Mayo Clinic Ambulance is honored to be represented by Curtis Alexander, EMT, as a Minnesota Star of Life. Curtis began his career with Mayo Clinic in 2019, initially as an EMT at Mayo Clinic Ambulance in Rochester, MN and is currently enrolled in the paramedic program through the Mayo School of Health Sciences, with a graduation date of May of this year. Curtis is known for his compassion to his patient and, for the teamwork atmosphere he brings to his position each day.
“Curtis is the perfect example of one of our Mayo Clinic Values, Teamwork,” says Paul Drucker, senior director of Mayo Clinic Ambulance. “In the nomination submitted by one of his colleagues, Curtis was described as someone you immediately know is working. He is the first to greet everyone and people seek him out to talk with. Curtis has weathered many changes in his work schedule, his partners and workload, yet always rises to new levels, impressing his coworkers and all of leadership. His ‘Go Team’ motto is a spirit we all need.”
“There is no one more deserving of recognition than Curtis. Not only does he come in and does his job with excellence, he works hard to bring joy to our work unit,” added Kate Arms, Operations Manager for Mayo Clinic Ambulance. “He always has a smile on his face, he has an upbeat attitude, and he’s always looking for the next thing to do. He serves his community both at home and at work, but he is also going above and beyond to his serve his fellow team members and our operation.”
When he isn’t working, Curtis is busy studying, helping with family time and volunteering with the Kasson Fire Department. Curtis enjoys ice fishing, canoeing, and camping, all events he and his family enjoy.
