Allina Health Emergency Medical Services (AHEMS), with nearly 80,000 ambulance calls each year, is a regional leader in providing state-of-the art emergency and medical transport services.  Both emergency and non-emergency medical transportation are provided in seven counties, encompassing nearly 80 Minnesota communities and reaching more than 1,000,000 people.

 

 

Responsibilities

 
  •  To Provide Advance life Support care to the sick and injured, and provide safe transport to a medical facility 
 

Education

 
  •  High School
  • Graduate of accredited EMS Program and certifications as listed below
 

Qualifications

 

Experience        

  • Current MN State EMT-P Certification or National Registry (with the expectation of receiving MN State EMT-P certification by date of interview)
  • 3 years Paramedic experience required for external candidates & 2 years Paramedic experience required for internal candidates
  • CCEMT-P national certification preferred, NRP preferred but must obtain within 18 months of hire into position

Skills

  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills (writing skills)
  • Computer to include Microsoft outlook, and EMS electronic patient care charting
  • Must have acceptable driveing record

Licensure/Certification

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • Drivers License
  • Medical Terminology
  • PALS
  • EMSRB or National Registry to obtain MN EMSRB, EMT-P Certificate

  • Part Time Position (30 hours/week)
  • 12 hour shifts
  • Day/Evening/Night Shift
  • Alternative Weekend plan
  • L167 Contract
