Allina Health Emergency Medical Services (AHEMS), with nearly 80,000 ambulance calls each year, is a regional leader in providing state-of-the art emergency and medical transport services. Both emergency and non-emergency medical transportation are provided in seven counties, encompassing nearly 80 Minnesota communities and reaching more than 1,000,000 people.



Critical Care Paramedic staff is a specific job class that is responsible for transferring critically ill adults and pediatric patients between hospitals. Responsibilities include operating highly technical ventilators, multichannel IV Pumps, evasive IV line, and advanced critical thinking skills. All applicants must be CCPC or CCFPC certified or successfully complete an accredited Critical Care training program within 18-months of starting.



  • High school
  • Graduate of accredited EMS Program and certifications as listed below
  • Current Minnesota EMSRB EMT-P certification, CPR, PALS, ACLS





  • Prior experience working in a high volume EMS system is preferred.


  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills (writing skills)
  • Computer to include Microsoft outlook, and EMS electronic patient care charting
  • Must have acceptable driving record


  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • Drivers License
  • PALS
  • EMSRB or National Registry to obtain MN EMSRB, EMT-P Certificate
