Responsibilities :

 

Provide & maintain high medical standards of care to the sick & injured per standard operating procedures.     

To provide safe, timely transportation of self & patients from scene to facility or inter-facility.

Establish & maintain good rapport with local EMS organizations, first responders and hospitals.     

Decrease waste, improve processes, improve overall productivity, and improve customer satisfaction.     

Provide concise, accurate information pertaining to the initial condition, history & treatment procedures for the patient.  Completes Operational daily paperwork as required and directed. 

Maintain a clean & stocked vehicle & base. Maintain all special equipment on vehicles. Obtain & secure class A narcotics.

Treats patients and customers (hospital, nursing and other staff we meet while providing patient care) with high regard and kindly.  Honors patient privacy as indicated by policy. 

Must follow the Allina Code of Conduct at all times.  Knows, understand & demonstrates the precepts behind Integrity, Respect, Trust, Compassion & Stewardship.

Provide advanced pre-hospital assessment and care to the ill and injured utilizing critical thinking, adherence to policies, procedures and protocol.

Paramedic staff must operate proficiently with all equipment and master their medical and operational policies. 

Education :

 

Associate’s Degree or higher required within two weeks prior to start date or, 

  • Paramedic applicants with only a certificate will have 2-consecutive semesters to obtain their associates degree once hired. *
  • Paramedic in good standing that separates from the organization and returns within 9-months, the associate’s degree requirement will be waived entirely.
  • Paramedic applicants with 4 years previous paramedic experience, the associates degree requirement will be waived entirely 

 

Qualifications/Skills :

 

Good interpersonal communication skills. Excellent documentation (writing) skills.    

Work Schedule – Additional Position Details :

 

  • This position requires a combination of regular shifts and call shifts for an average of 96 hours per month.
  • L167 Contract
  • Benefit Eligible
  • Every other weekend rotation
  • Starting pay is $20.67
  • $2,000 to $5,000 sign on bonus based upon experience
