Paramedic (1.0 FTE)—Detroit Lakes, MN (13223BR)

The Emergency Medical Technician-P reports directly to the St. Mary’s EMS Operations Director in matters of an administrative and operational nature and to the Medical Director in matters of a medical nature. The Technician is responsible for routine implementation of and compliance with the policies. The Technician is directly responsible for prompt response, quality and patient care and professionalism while carrying out all duties.

QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)

•             Current Minnesota certification or eligibility for Minnesota certification an  EMT-P

•             Valid Minnesota Certificate for job issued by the Regulatory Board

•             Current EVOC Training

•             Possession of a valid Minnesota Calls C (or greater) driver’s license and good driving record

•             High School graduate or GED

•             Demonstrate ability to be tactful, polite, patient, firm and thorough when dealing with others

•             Ability to provide and accept direction

•             Demonstrated reliability, honesty, and ability to maintain confidentiality

•             Ability to work with minimum supervision

•             Ability to communicated clearly and effectively using two-way radio as well as with a diverse group of people

•             Good verbal and written communication skills

•             Thorough understanding of ambulance equipment

•             Possess the physical ability to perform lifting and moving task as required in providing care to our customers. Possess no physical limitations which endanger the safety of self, peers, or customers while performing lifting and moving tasks

Licensure/Certifications required:

•             Current Minnesota certification or eligibility for Minnesota certification an  EMT-P

•             Valid Minnesota Certificate for job issued by the Regulatory Board

•             Current EVOC Training
