Erik Sarnstrom, Paramedic Supervisor, has been a dedicated member of Allina Health EMS since 2006. He began his career as an EMT, gaining experience in 911 response, interfacility transport, and critical care. While working as an EMT, Erik pursued his paramedic certification and also served with Northfield Hospital EMS and an urgency room. Driven by a passion for improvement, he has always sought ways to enhance processes and solve challenges.
In 2022, Erik took on a leadership role as a supervisor, bringing his problem-solving mindset to the forefront. Since then, he has spearheaded numerous improvement projects, ensured equipment and facilities operate at peak performance, and, most importantly, led by example. Known for his tireless work ethic and strong leadership, Erik has earned the respect of his team and is one of the most sought-after supervisors by staff.
Beyond his internal impact, Erik has built strong relationships within the public safety community in the south metro area. He has strengthened partnerships with public safety agencies and taken a leading role in operations at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport.
Erik’s commitment to excellence, leadership, and dedication to his team and community make him a deserving recipient of the 2025 Minnesota Star of Life Award. Congratulations, Erik!
