For nearly 17 years, she managed all the external communications for ThedaCare health care system in Northeast Wisconsin, including crisis communications, social media, public relations, and media relations. She is certified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Center for Disaster Preparedness as a Public Information Officer. She is a former news reporter and also led the marketing and communications for a large nonprofit organization for six years.
