The MAA is NOT scheduling meetings for members. Follow the steps below to schedule meetings with your legislators. We encourage members to reach out to others in their district and schedule meetings together.
Step 1: Identify the House & Senate member(s) in your district(s)
Step 2: Contact their offices to schedule a constituent meeting
contact information will be listed on the website linked in step 1
Step 3: Print your leave-behinds, meet, and share your EMS Story!

Tips for a Successful Hill Meeting
- Be in uniform
- Be prepared!
this includes leave-behinds, business cards, and key messages
- Be on time and follow any arrival instructions provided
- Don't be disappointed if you meet with a staffer, not the member
building relationships with staffers is a great way to make sure our message is heard and understood
- Follow up! Take business cards (members & staffers) and send a follow-up to include digital versions of leave-behinds, ensure they have your contact information, and thank them for taking the time to meet. You can even include a link back to the association website (www.mnems.org)
